1. MBBS Graduate or equivalent qualification from any recognized Indian University which is recognized by Medical Council of India (M.C.I.) presently National Medical Council (N.M.C.) and permanently registered under Bihar & Orissa Medical Act 1916. (If 4 and half years MBBS course and 01 year rotating internship has been done from foreign universities and FMGE examination conducted by MCI has been passed and if the foreign university is recognized by MCI, then their degree will be recognized and such candidates will be considered educationally eligible for the post of General Medical Officer.) 2. Compulsory internship training of 12 months in a hospital/institute recognized by the Indian Medical Council and the Government is mandatory. There should not be a break of even a day in the internship, whatever be the reason.
